A Night to Remember with an Alternative Wedding DJ in Stafford at Standon Hall

Last night, I had the pleasure of being the alternative wedding DJ in Stafford for Anthony Chadwick and Emma Smallman’s wedding at Standon Hall. The night was a celebration of the couple’s love for rock, metal, pop-punk, and emo music, making it a truly unique and unforgettable event.

Ant and Em’s First Dance to Follow You by Bring Me the Horizon

Anthony and Emma wanted their wedding to capture the same vibrant energy and atmosphere as the bride’s sister Hayley and her husband Iain’s wedding, which I had the pleasure of DJing at the same venue, Standon Hall, two years earlier. Having been guests at Hayley and Iain’s wedding, Anthony and Emma got in touch to request me personally for their special day. It was wonderful to recreate that magic and see some familiar faces from that memorable day, adding an extra layer of warmth and connection to the evening.

Memorable Moments

We got “The Time Warp” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show played twice. The guests in the room were so into the vibe that they insisted on an encore, especially since the father of the bride, Barry, had missed it the first time around. It was a fun and spontaneous moment that really captured the spirit of the night.

Similarly, “Bada Bing! Wit’ A Pipe!” by Four Year Strong was also played twice. The best man and groom realised they had missed it the first time I’d played it earlier in the night. When they asked for it again, I couldn’t turn them down—after all, it was the groom’s big day! Replaying it brought a lot of energy back into the room and kept the vibe strong with that pop-punk edge.

A special shout-out goes to Felicity from Standon Hall who helped me find where to park, set up, and checked in throughout the night. Her friendly and professional demeanor made the evening run smoothly.

The music at Anthony and Emma’s wedding was a carefully curated mix of rock, metal, pop-punk, and emo, designed to reflect the couple’s deep love for alternative music genres. From the soft opening notes of Yellowcard’s “Only One” to the hard-hitting riffs of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets,” the setlist was a journey through some great tracks from alternative music. High-energy anthems like Electric Callboy’s “Everytime We Touch” and “Pump It” kept the energy levels soaring, while hits like “Helena” by My Chemical Romance and “Dear Maria, Count Me In” by All Time Low brought a wave of nostalgia to the room.

Whether it was the infectious pop-punk beats of Fall Out Boy and Four Year Strong or the anthemic choruses of Bring Me The Horizon and Guns ‘N’ Roses, the music was the heartbeat of the evening, driving the celebration forward with every track.

The feedback from Ant, the groom, was that the music was “banging good tunes” whenever he was in the room, which was a great validation of the effort put into curating the setlist.

Final Thoughts

If you’re planning your own event and want an alternative wedding DJ who can tailor the music to fit your love for rock, metal, pop-punk, and emo, or any other non-cheesy wedding music like funk, soul, disco, motown, indie, house, garage and more don’t hesitate to reach out. Whether it’s a high-energy party or a more intimate gathering, We’re here to make sure your event is one to remember.
