Fun Times Being a Wedding DJ in Nottingham – Pop-Punk Meets Soul at Cosy Club

If you’re after a wedding DJ in Nottingham who understands how to make a playlist feel like you, who can juggle Slipknot, ABBA, Paramore, and Big Shaq in one night, well… this is a night you’ll appreciate.

This February, I had the absolute pleasure of DJing for Luke & Lauren’s wedding at the stunning Cosy Club in Nottingham, right across from an old favourite of mine when I’m in the city — The Pit and Pendulum where, yes, the toilets are still behind a bookcase. Some traditions matter.

The Load-In? Brutal. The Party? Worth Every Step.

Let’s just say… I earned this one. I was still recovering from a chest infection I’d had for days, had to drive through and park temporarily on a buzzing post-football-match street, lug all my kit up three huge flights of stairs, and then go find a pay and display. Then walk back to the venue and back up all those stairs. Alone. Ill. But I did it (rather breathlessly).

And honestly? I’d do it again in a heartbeat. These are the moments that make being a wedding DJ in Nottingham – or anywhere – worth it.

Luke & Lauren’s Playlist? Absolute Scenes.

Luke and Lauren had a clear vision: the setlist was for them and their mates first, with family very gently warned to expect pop-punk, emo, alt-metal, and niche gems. And wow, did it work.

Count Me In!

Some highlights:

  • Pop-punk anthems from Neck Deep, Paramore, All Time Low, Simple Plan
  • Alt and pop curveballs like Pink Pony Club and Hot To Go! by Chappell Roan
  • A super rare Bilmuri request (which made my night, honestly)
  • Heavy hitters from Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, and Linkin Park
  • Throwback pop joy: Unwritten, Dancing Queen, Set You Free
  • And yes… a mid-party Big Shaq drop, specially requested by a child and immediately bride-approved

All of that mixed in with soul, Wham!, Duran Duran, Erasure, and some Sabrina Carpenter for good measure.

The final run featured a stunning sweep from pop chaos to full-blown emo, and we closed — as requested — with “Light My Love” by Greta Van Fleet. Proper goosebumps moment.

The Groom’s Words:

“You ABSOLUTELY NAILED the playlist from start to finish. The amount of times me and Lauren locked eyes across the room each time you dropped banger after banger was EXACTLY what we wanted.”

It doesn’t get better than that.

Why This Night Stuck With Me

From a sweaty three-flight load-in to a packed dancefloor singing Unwritten like it was a headliner at Slam Dunk, Luke & Lauren’s wedding had it all.

Whether you’re after pop-punk chaos, emo throwbacks, or just a good time with zero filler, this was a masterclass in how to do it right.

I might not be a local, but I’ll always jump at the chance to be your wedding DJ in Nottingham.
